If you’re in the food, medical, or hospitality industries, commercial refrigeration is likely at the core of your operations. No matter what units you have on your floor, they all need care from time to time to ensure they stay operational and keep your stock safe.
We have a few tips that help prevent problems and are keen to show you the way. These simple ‘safety precautions’ are things your staff can do regularly to maintain your commercial cooling at optimal levels for years to come.
1. Clean your condenser coils and filters
The condensers job is to remove heat from the system, over time dust and grease can build up on the coil and cause it to become blocked.
If you see this buildup on your appliance, it’s a good idea to turn it off. Give the condenser a brush down, this allows it to increase the airflow and make sure the heat exchanger gets what it needs to, to function perfectly.
2.Keep an eye on your temperature dials
It may seem like a simple matter, but making sure your commercial cooling is always at the right temperature is crucial.
With automated technology, it’s easy to assume that things are working fine, but all manner of things can happen over time that can put the stock at risk. Even a door not sealing correctly, can ultimately have a significant impact on your system.
The best thing to do is to implement regular checks to make sure nothing gets out of hand as you work. From a proper clean to a daily or weekly glance at the dial in your cool room or fridge, you’ll be able to stay on track and prevent problems that might damage your equipment, and the stock you hold within it.
